March 2015

Warning! Lots of photos on this post! =)

In the dead of winter, sometimes you need a little Richard Simmons for a pick-me-up workout.

It nice when they all get along.

Mike and I went up to the Nordic Heritage Center to do a little cross country skiing. They've held some pretty big events there for the biathlon so the course isn't super easy.

Mike found this GIANT icicle outside on the house.

Pants lady!

Our house made the Maine Potato Board's annual calander! The son of the guy we bought the house from is on the board and he decided to do it, probably because his dad is pretty sick right now and he put a ton of work into this house. I'll post later some of the before pictures of this house.

We had a raccoon visit one day.

The days where you can ski in a short sleeve shirt are AWESOME!

We had a couple sister missionaries that were in a ward for a while and we got to know them both pretty well.

Sister Smith

We went to a small St. Patrick's Day Festival for kids. They had some people out there giving dog sled rides. Luckily they let me ride with Vivian!

Then Eedie and Annabelle took a turn. It was one of the funnest things I have ever done.

I took this picture in March after I got a message from my friend Cassi, asking if it was still snowing here. =) If you ever think you have cabin fever, feel free to come do a winter in Maine. It will definitely make you appreciate where you live.

The entrance to our road.

We had another Flat Stanley come out and visit us.

When we first got there, we had a storm that brought in almost 18 inches of snow!
Playing with the girls in the snow.

In front of the house with all the snow.

He even helped Mike blow some snow.

We brought him out to The Maple Moose, where they make our favorite Maine syrup!

They taught us about the evaporator they use to boil off the water from the sap.

We went down to learn about how they tap the trees and use a vacuum to send the sap back up the hill.

We even made maple taffy in the snow.

They have lots of good stuff on their website and they'll even ship it to you. Check them out at TheMapleMoose
We took Flat Stanley on to Canada with us on our way to a church meeting. Here, we visited the longest covered bridge in THE WORLD!

Umm... really Canada!? I thought at first this truck must have Americans plates... but no.

The only thing sadder than having the closest Target be an hour and a half away, is seeing that particular Target is closing soon! Now, my closest one is 2 1/2 hours away!
And you can't be near a Wendy's and not get some chili for Eedie, or a Frosty for Mom! We don't have a Wendy's near us either. I'm telling you, it's almost like we're still in another country!

Thanks for coming to visit, Flat Stanley! Hope you had fun!

I went driving one day just looking for cool houses and scenery. Found these:

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Back out in the yard, in case you haven't had enough...

Dad, teaching his girls to play chess.

It never gets old seeing this.

Mike and I went out on our first real snowmobile ride. Here are some pics while we were out.

Annabelle's first ride.

Eedie's first ride.

Mike and I went to Aroostook State Park snowshoeing for a date night.
I love how they are so trusting up here.

The hills were steep.

At the top. Mike HATES selfies, so I made him be in one. =)

And this is when I thought I might die...

We didn't realize how bad this part was until we couldn't go back the other way. Apparently this area is bad even in the summer!

Still a good bit of snow hanging around.

But that didn't stop this guy.

I like to post these so you can see what it looks like throughout the season. Snow... still there towards the end of March.

Making Easter cookies! Eedie thought porcupines were a good choice for Easter. =)

Dying Easter eggs!

Decorating the cookies.

Some of the finished products.

Winter does end at some point guys, I promise!
