October 2014

In October, Mike's Dad and Aunt drove out to bring Jesse our dog. We put them to work peeling and chopping all the apples we collected from our trees.

The girls even wanted to get in on some of the action.

Mike had some fun taking these panoramic pictures of the house.

This one is my favorite.

There's a place just down the road from us called Goughan's Farm. They sell all sorts of plants and different things starting in the spring. And in the fall they have a corn maze and pumpkin picking among other activities.

We tried to get a family pic, but that's always a little too much to ask with kids.

For real, Annabelle is looking a little a little like Llyod from Dumb and Dumber here. Don't worry, her teeth don't really look like that. It's just the lighting. =)

This one ended up being my favorite.

Mike tried to get her to smile.

And then Annabelle.

Oh yes, and they have some animals there too. Vivian is definitely our animal lover and not afraid of many of them.

And of course we can't have an October without watching General Conference. If you're wondering what that is, check it out here. Also, they girls love conference now that we do a treat when they hear specific words mentioned. =)

If you come to visit, you're trying this drink - Moxie. One of the weirdest sodas ever... that's all I'll say about it. ;)

I did my first craft fair this year. I just started making these wood signs right before we left for Japan. I was thinking I might need a hobby to keep me busy during the winter... and I was right. =)

Here was part of the setup during the fair. At the time I was called The Pickled Plum. Right now, I'm Mangy Moose Prints, but I'll looking for a better name. If you have any ideas, let me know! I'd like to keep Moose in the name though!

And the whole booth.
I took some pictures of the changing leaves around our area, but I caught them a little late. But it's still pretty nice.

This is the road up to the Nordic Heritage Center. There's some great biking, hiking and cross country skiing here. They have even held some major Biathlon events here.

We got out to take some pictures. The girls just woke up and Eedie was still asleep.

Our sweet little Jessie. Vivian loved this dog. Jessie got hit by the garbage man later in January and ended up dying. The girls ask us on a weekly basis for a new dog. We would like to get another dog, but we live so close to the road and don't want this to happen again.

The girls had lots of fun playing in the falling leaves in our yard.

Another reason I haven't blogged much - we are basically on dial up internet speed out here in the country. I started trying to upload some photos a while back but it was going to take 56 minutes! And that's seriously no joke. It has taken me 5-10 minutes just to upload ONE photo before.

We went Trick or Treating with some friends in their neighborhood because we don't have many neighbors. I forgot to take pictures of the girls up close in their costumes. Anyway, Annabelle was Bat Woman, Eedie was a cat and Vivian used the same gnome outfit that has been used by both of the other girls. =)

In our town we have an old Railroad Museum that I'm not sure is open anymore. But it seems like a good place to take some family pictures later.

So this year, I'll have to take a picture earlier, but that orange tree to the left just looks like it's glowing. It's seriously so awesome but like I said, I was a little too late on the picture.

And that's October.
